An electrode used to repair and rebuild hot-work tool steel and cutting tools, especially for cutting tool edges and cutting steel surfaces. The weld result is highly resistant to friction, compression, and impact.

Recommended for welding cutting tools, screw conveyors, valves, milling and mixing equipment, drilling tools, wear rings, and guide rails or rollers in steel mills.

Covered Electrode

A hardfacing electrode alloyed with Cr, C, W, Mo, Fe, Si, Mn, and high nickel, suitable for overlaying and building up hot-work tooling. Highly resistant to heat, impact, and thermal shock — used on dies and forging machines, hot punches, forging dies, and hot shear blades. The weld deposit work-hardens further in service. Very suitable for reconditioning hot mandrels in pipe mills.
